Friends of NOLA to pay for DNC Party!?

Thu Jun 05, 2008 at 09:51:16 AM PDT

WTF?

I don't know much about this group, the Friends of New Orleans, but this Denver Post story, if true, stinks to high heaven.

Obama is stupid.

Candorville eviscerates Clinton!

Wed May 21, 2008 at 02:03:31 PM PDT

If you're not a fan of Darrin Bell, you are about to be!

Ever since I was a wee lad in the 70's I've loved the comics.  Doonsebury was the political bomb for me.

I've also had my share of dates with Bloom County, and who could forget the Boondocks, though I must admit, I haven't seen much of Aaron McGruder's animated series.

I trust Obama.

Tue May 06, 2008 at 06:31:23 AM PDT

A few months ago, I was driving my 65+ year old mom to the Detroit airport, and I, naturally and deliberately, steered the conversation to politics.  Being her age and what not, I was not at all surprised to find out she was a Hillary supporter.

Today I voted for me!

Tue Aug 07, 2007 at 08:47:08 AM PDT

Strange feeling, going into the voter booth, and seeing your name printed on the ballot.  Surreal.  Twilight Zone.

As I diaried before, I was appointed to a vacant Lansing City Council seat in May, and immediately started to campaign.  The competition will be tough, and politics is much stranger from the inside than you would suspect from the outside.

Can you spare 5 Bucks?

Fri Jul 13, 2007 at 07:42:54 AM PDT

Shameless.  That's what I am doing.  I'm not usually in the habit of asking for favors, let alone asking for money, but hey, what is a close knit family of 125 thousand people for if not to lend support?

My name is Bill, and I am running for Lansing City Council.  Can you please spare 5 bucks to help me with my campaign?

Now what?

Tue May 15, 2007 at 07:30:18 AM PDT

Greetings fellow liberals and democrats.  I wanted to share my experience of interviewing and being appointed to the Lansing City Council last week!  Needless to say, I was inspired by the very grass roots chatter you read here every day, and want to contribute to our local government by advancing the liberal and democratic agenda, even at a low level post.  Hey it's a start!  The appointment is through the end of the year, so I will be running in a primary in August, and hopefully a general in November.  I need your advice.

NCAA Trash Talkin' Thread

Well, tonight is the big game.  Not to rain on anybody's Opening Day parade, since the Tigers are going to take you all out this year, but one last NCAA Basketball wrap up before we dust off our mits and golf clubs.

Is Dailykos a 21st century Scooby Do?

For those of you too young to remember the ORIGINAL Scooby Do cartoon series let me explain why I think Dailykos is of course the Mystery Mobile, our vehicle of transport, that on occassion breaks down and is up and running again within 30 minutes thanks to ct, Markos is Fred "Freddie" Jones, the leader, and all of the rest of the wacky characters that make up the gang.

A good healthcare story.

Sorry to be contrarian to nycve, and Jerome a Paris, but I have a positive story to tell about the American healthcare system from my recent and personal experience.

Lamont doesn't need your money.

Wed Jun 28, 2006 at 06:21:47 AM PDT

Ok, well I may be way off the beaten path here.  I somewhat support Ned Lamont, somewhat hate Joe Lieberman, but I'm a voter in Michigan.  I have other fish to fry.  With Markos' daily grinding away at JL, and the story now going Mainstream, Lamont is truly gaining steam.

But this quote stuck out for me:

...a Greenwich millionaire cable company executive named Ned Lamont.

I was a bit cranky this morning and thought about writing an "Enough with the YearlyKos Already!" diary.  I paused.  I inspected my navel.  I read some comments in the recommended and recent diaries.  And then I flipped 180 degrees.

Mona, you ignorant slut!

Wed May 24, 2006 at 10:29:20 AM PDT

My apologies if this has already been diaried.  I must first add this disclaimer: I am a frequent non-commenter and even less frequent diarist.

So after a hard day's work and another 5 hours on my roof last night, I finally sat down to dinner.  As is my routine, I peruse the editorial page for the lastest nasty letters and hack columns.

I came across this gem by Mona Charen http://www.jewishworldreview.com/...  To open her latest enlightened piece of wisdom:

In 1970, six percent of all births in the United States were to illegal aliens. In 2002, that figure was 23 percent.

WOW!  I had no IDEA the problem was this bad!  Do you know why?  It isn't.

kos touches a nerve...gets attacked.

Tue Jan 03, 2006 at 08:52:31 AM PDT

How can you tell when something strikes a nerve on the right?  When they can't stop jumpin up and down screaming about it.

So yesterdays "Why are conservatives so afraid", which was great by the way and sounded just like this astute comment,
post drew some fire from Byron York at National Review Online this morning here

In a stunning new statement, the enormously influential left-wing blogger Markos Moulitsas attacks the very basis for the war on terror, attributing American efforts to prevent future terrorist attacks not to national security concerns but to...conservative cowardice

which was then picked up as...

Jordan shows U.S. how it should be done!

11 Jordanian officials resign after bombings on CNN.  No that is how an administration accepts responsibility for complete and utter intelligence failures.
